Magma is an Official Library Distributor of TSMC
Magma has integrated TSMC's process-tuned libraries and technology rules into a seamless RTL-to-GDSII design flow. Currently supported in the COT flow are TSMC's 0.15-micron, 0.13-micron and NexsysSM 90-nanometer libraries. With this combination, designers are able to fully exploit Blast Fusion's optimization capabilities to deliver better quality of results (QoR) and accelerate the design cycle for smaller, faster chips with greater functionality.
Magma and TSMC worked closely together to validate the libraries in Magma's design environment, from RTL to tape-out-quality GDSII. This demonstrates that Magma software supports TSMC's manufacturing rules for 90-nanometer technology, such as complex antenna rules, via farm rules and metal rules for nine layers of metal routing.
Magma Volcano Data Files are Available in TSMC Libraries
TSMC now make available Magma Volcano databases for download along with TSMC standard cell libraries. With these files and a single command in the Talus IC implementation system, designers can reduce the time and effort required to begin implementing 45-nanometer and 65-namometer ICs.
This Volcano databases are consist of both LEF and Liberty files, and also P&R technology files such as routing rules, gdsii layer mapping rules, antenna rules, and EM rules. With these files preloaded, the Volcano databases provide a more efficient method of making design changes after implementation begins. Designers using point tools spend a significant amount of time importing databases into their respective point tools. If the designer decides to switch libraries or design rules during the implementation process, the importing process of all databases into several tools must be repeated. Since Magma software operates on a unified data model, only the new database must be imported.
